SLU(SHELOOKUP) story began in late 2018. Founder Katrina noticed growing concern about skincare and health products in the Hong Kong market causing tremendous health and hormonal impact to people, leading to a demand of natural and wholesome products from Germany.
With the belief of sharing is caring, Katrina started to introduce german products based on her vision for sharing. It resonated strongly with the community and she received waves of positive feedback.
SLU stands for "she-look-up" something to better themself. We inspire individuals to express their unique beauty by embracing what delights them. Every individual should discover beauty and lifestyle ideas without boundaries.
SLU diversified the offering by expanding from deodorant to a series of skincare vitamin serums from the german beauty salon brand neulab+ and natural honey from regional Bavarian beekeepers. In the following months over 20 selected products were introduced on the webshop (shelookup.com) which launched in 2019.
Another Journey begins
First Shop launched
In July of 2020, SLU was invited to open a first store in one of Hong Kongs prestigious Shopping Malls – K11 Art Mall from New World Development Company Limited, in Tsim Sha Tsui. This unique opportunity has given us a great chance to learn and get to know more about our customers. Shortly after reaching these milestones in early October, SLU was approached by multiple prominent shopping malls in Hong Kong to expand the business.
Three months later SLU opened a popup store with great success in K11 Art Mall not only by exceeding expected sales growth but also by gaining experience of running a retail store with direct access to our primarily online audience and many new “offline” customers.
3 stores in different locations
In order to fullfill the needs of our customers SLU provides a new online shopping experience with all-round of content early 2021.
In pursuit to provide an even greater shopping experience, SLU launched two more shops in TMT Plaza Tuen Mun, New Territories in March 2021, and Windsor House, Causeway Bay in May 2021 respectively.
